Mahjong Magic Islands is a mahjong solitaire game set in a fairy-tale world of scattered islands whose ancient cities have lost their magic. You clear each level by connecting matching tiles, and the pieces you collect go toward magic spells.

Between boards you meet mythical creatures who need help, which gives each level a small task beyond clearing the layout. The tile matching stays familiar, so the spells and creatures are what you notice as you move from island to island.
